Who we are

Hippix is the dispatch platform of JAG US Logistix LLC, doing business as Hippix Logistix (USDOT 3979483), a freight carrier. This policy covers the Hippix Driver app for iPhone and Android and the Hippix website at hippixlogistix.app.

Accounts are created by Hippix Logistix for its drivers, staff and customers. A driver can also apply in the Hippix Driver app: the application can’t see or do anything until Hippix Logistix approves it, and withdrawing it in the app deletes it. To limit repeated sign-ups, we keep a one-way scrambled form of the network address an application came from. The rules for using Hippix are in the Terms of Service.

What we collect

Account details. Your name, email address, phone number, home city and role. Your password is stored only in scrambled form by our sign-in provider, and nobody at Hippix Logistix can see it. If you add a profile photo, it is stored at an unlisted web address.

Location, for drivers. On the Offers tab, the Hippix Driver app uses your phone’s position to list loads near your truck; that position is used for the search and not stored. When you tap Start sharing, the app records your phone’s GPS position, speed, direction and the time about every 15 seconds while you are moving, keeps your position on dispatch’s map current every few seconds, and takes one reading when dispatch asks the app for a fresh position, including when the app is in the background, closed or your phone is locked. It stops when you tap Stop sharing or sign out, and the app never answers a request while sharing is off. While it is on, your phone shows it: a blue location indicator on iPhone, a notification on Android. The Hippix website never asks for your location.

Documents and photos you choose to send. Bills of lading, proofs of delivery, scale tickets, lumper receipts, photos of the freight and of your truck, and credentials such as a driver’s license, medical card or insurance certificate. The app uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to attach something.

Your truck’s profile. What it can carry and what it has (liftgate, dock-high floor, pallet jack, door sizes, pallets), and a few lines about yourself if you choose to add them. Your dispatcher uses it to match loads to your truck.

What you record at pickup and delivery. The bill of lading number, the number of pieces loaded, and the name of the person who signs for the delivery. They go on the load record your dispatcher sees.

Agreements you sign. The agreement, the name you type to sign it, and when you signed.

Your driver and company record. Your company’s name and MC number; the owner’s name, phone, email and mailing address; whether you drive solo or as a team, and your co-driver’s name; whether you are a U.S. citizen; whether you hold a TWIC card or TSA approval, and when the card expires; your driver’s license state, class and expiry date; and your vehicle’s plate and VIN. Dispatch uses it to book you on the loads that require these. Once something is on file, changes go through a request that an administrator approves.

Load activity. Bids and the notes you send with them, load status updates, notes, problem reports, support tickets, and requests to change your record.

Messages with dispatch. What you and dispatch write to each other in the app or on the platform, who wrote it, when, and when it was read. Everyone on Hippix Logistix’s dispatch team can read a driver’s conversation, so whoever is at the desk can answer.

Pay records and banking. Earnings, settlements, pay adjustments, deductions and advance requests; and the bank account your pay goes to: the bank’s name, the account holder, the account type, and the account and routing numbers. The account and routing numbers are stored encrypted. You and dispatch see only their last four digits; Hippix Logistix’s administrators and accounts staff can see them in full, to pay you.

A notification token, so we can send load offers and updates to your phone.

For staff: if you connect a Google account to send email from the platform, we store permission to send email as you and your email address. That permission can send mail only. It cannot read your inbox.

Load offers from brokers. Brokers send load offers by email. We keep the load details and the contact information in each offer, and delete the original email after 7 days.

Error reports. If a page fails in your browser, we record the error, the page address (without anything after a “?”), the browser type, and the role and account ID of whoever was signed in, so we can fix it.

Cookies. Only what keeps you signed in, and your light or dark theme setting. No advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use it

  • To dispatch and deliver freight: offering and assigning loads, listing loads near your truck, showing dispatch where a load is, estimating arrival times, warning when a load is running late, and suggesting a status update when you reach a pickup or delivery.
  • To keep paperwork: proof of delivery, driver qualifications, and the dates credentials expire.
  • To pay drivers and invoice customers.
  • To send you load offers and updates.
  • To keep the platform secure and working, and to fix problems.

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Who can see it

  • Hippix Logistix staff, such as dispatch and billing, to do their jobs.
  • Customers and brokers on a shipment can follow its status and estimated arrival through a tracking link. They do not see your GPS position. Paperwork for a shipment, such as a proof of delivery, may be given to the customer or broker for that shipment.
  • Companies that run the platform for us, only to provide their service: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage, in the United States), Vercel (website hosting), Expo, Apple and Google (delivering notifications to your phone), Google (the mailbox load offers arrive in, and sending email for staff who connect it), CARTO and OpenStreetMap services (map images, address lookup and road routes), and Apple Maps (the map in the iPhone app). Maps load like any web content, so those services see the request; a road route to a pickup includes where you are at that moment.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, including transportation safety regulators, or to protect someone’s safety.
  • A buyer, if Hippix Logistix or its business is sold, under the same protections.

How long we keep it

  • GPS readings: 90 days. A load keeps its record of arrival and departure times at each stop.
  • Original broker emails: 7 days.
  • Error reports: 30 days.
  • The log of actions taken in the platform: 180 days.
  • Account, load, document and pay records: as long as Hippix Logistix needs them to run the business and to meet legal, tax and transportation record-keeping requirements.

Your choices

  • Location sharing is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in the app or in your phone’s settings. It works with location set to “While Using the App”; “Always” is optional.
  • Without location, the Offers tab can search from a ZIP code you type instead.
  • You can turn notifications off in your phone’s settings.
  • Camera and photo access are used only when you attach something, and can be switched off in your phone’s settings.
  • You can ask for a copy of your information, or for it to be corrected or deleted, by emailing info@hippixlogistix.com.

Deleting your account

Drivers can delete their account in the Hippix Driver app: Settings, then “Delete my account”. Or email info@hippixlogistix.com from the address on your account, with “Delete my account” as the subject. We will close the account, stop collecting anything from it, and delete your location history and the personal information we are not required to keep. Records the law requires us to keep, such as delivery, pay and driver qualification records, are kept for the required period and then deleted.

Step-by-step help is on the support page.

Security

Everything travels encrypted between your device and the platform. The database itself keeps each driver and each customer to their own records, and only Hippix Logistix staff can see the rest. The app keeps your sign-in in your phone’s secure storage, and documents are stored privately. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.

Children

Hippix is for working adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects what we collect from drivers, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
